If you're considering buying this helmet sight unseen, you may want to go try one in person first, or have a look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMB80KXU ... _embedded# . I really wanted to like this helmet and was just about to pull the trigger on a neon yellow version until I watched the video. I've bought a few helmets from Todd and I believe he gives a pretty unbiased review of all the helmets he sells. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade and by all means if this helmet is for you then get on board with this very excellant deal Mark is offering. Just do your homework first. Might save you some grief down the road.

Len, as soon as I have 6, or those that are interested are tired of waiting. In other words no rush but before the riding season gets into full swing.

Here's another in depth review which is a bit more favorable. This guy explains the air bladder system and how it works. Both guys agree that the helmet tends to run small so order accordingly. I still like that neon yellow version!

Scorpion EXO-900 Flip Up Helmet: I just wanted anyone interested in the purchase of a new flip up helmet, to know that this is one great buy. The reason I say that is that I have been wearing a Scorpion full face EXO700 helmet for some time and was very pleased with it, because it was the most comfortable and quietest helmet I have ever had. But I really wanted a flip up with an internal sun visor. This model is recently out and even though I was prepared to experience a little more noise with a flip up than a full face, I ordered one anyway. The price is great $279.00. But to my surprise, this is way quieter than my full face Scorpion and has some great features to boot. Check it out!

From my point of view, it's not a huge amount of $$$ and I need a helmet. I just can't proceed until I have tried one on--somewhere--and validate the size. I think I tried a Scorpion full-face helmet on one time, based on the sizing chart, and I couldn't get the helmet over my (buffalo) head. So...we'll see.

Looks like the first order will go in on March 1, 2010. If you are interested, please let me know by Feb 28 so I can include your helmet in the order.

Thanks

I picked up my new helmet from Mark on Friday and tested it today. Report: I love it. It has three air vents, easily opened and closed with winter gloves on. I can add air as well as deflate while riding (this is the cheek area). The flip face release works like a charm and I absolutely love the tinted shield that comes down and comes down quite far. It is also easily lowered and raised with winter gloves on. An added feature that I didn't realize is it came with an extra piece that can be snapped on under the chin to help protect from winter air. It is much quieter than my old helmet. The wind was blowing this afternoon and I did not get much up under my helmet. My measured size was Med., but the small end of Med. I purchased a Med. and I do have a tad bit of room so it is not too tight.

Thread moved to proper discussion group.

Another order is in the works for mid next week.

A note on sizing. They seem to run the same as ARAI which is that a size larger is needed than other helmets.

I was at CycleGear yesterday and tried on an XXXL and was surprised to see that it was only a little too big. (They had it in back, ask for it.) I usually wear an XL in a Shoe RF1000. Just for reference.

I'd seriously consider getting one of these if I hadn't already gotten a Nolan N43 modular helmet. The Nolan's is quite a bit lighter than the Scorpion but padding isn't as comfy and the Nolan is definitely a warm weather lid. It's a cold helmet when it's cold outside!

After trying on Doug Quinn's large, I ordered a medium from Cycle Gear on Feb 11(their 10% off everything sale evening). I usually wear a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 in a full face helmet but this medium fit me just fine. It is quiet and has all the features I look for in a flip up including the neon lime green/yellow color. I am for sure visible now.
